We introduced the Natuzzi range of leather upholstery around 10 years ago, as we were impressed by the exceptional quality and elegance of the styles.
The Natuzzi brand was founded in 1959, so has over 50 years of experience in producing elegant and high quality leather sofas and accompanying pieces. It is now one of the worlds leading furniture suppliers selling to over 120 countries around the world.
It's founder, Pasquale Natuzzi, a cabinet makers son, opened a small workshop in Taranto, Italy that handcrafted armchairs and sofas for the local market. He was so successful, that over the years he gradually grew the business moving production to Santeramo, in the Province of Bari, where the head office of the business is still today.
Natuzzi has always focused on maintaining Italian craftsmanship and design, and today employs more than 100 designers, colour experts, architects, engineers and interior designers. Pasquale Natuzzi is still head of design and only one in 50 of his teams initial designs pass his approval.
The design to production stage is an extremely meticulous and rigorous process, where all elements of the design are tested by a group of technicians in regard to quality, durability and comfort.
Each level of the 135 stage production process adheres to quality testing to ensure that the finished piece is perfect, from tanning the hides, padding, upholstery cutting and sewing to final assembly. In 1994 they were awarded the Internationally recognized ISO9001 certification and shortly after ISO14001, confirming their commitment to quality management and also the environment.
